6th Annual Art Exhibition

The Annual Art Exhibition is back and renewed!​

 

Exhibition period: December 7 – 20, 2024

Opening party : December 7, 2024 

Holiday party and award ceremony : December 19, 2024 

Location: J-Collabo, 300 7th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215

Awards

Artist Residency Award (max 4 winners)

 →1 month residency/right to hold a solo exhibition (with accommodations)

Mini Solo Exhibition Prize (max 4 winners)

 → 2-weeks of solo exhibition (BBFL café area)

OSSAM Gallery Prize (max 4 artists)

 →Right to hold a group exhibition

  • 2 works per participant

  • Approximate size: maximam size 50 ((for two-dimensional work)

  • Oil paint, watercolor, print, craft, photography, video, sculpture, textile, mixed media, installation are applicable

  • *For video and digital media, unless the artist brings his/her own equipment, the work will be shown on a loop with other participants' works (no more than 10 minutes per work) and only works without sound can be shown.

  • *A limited number of pedestals are available, but freestanding objects may be installed. Please inquire about sculptures and three-dimensional works.

Participation fee: $100 (*Free for J-COLLABO Artist Program members)

(Please note J-Collabo will not cover any of the shipping costs to and from our venue. All works shipped will be mailed back to the sender, on their expense, in the same packaging it came in. We will have an open window for drop offs of the works on December 2 - 4 during building operation hours. Works that have been dropped off must be picked up at the end of the exhibition by December 22.)

Precautions​

*The copyright of the works exhibited and displayed at this exhibition shall remain with their respective authors. However, it is deemed that permission has been granted for the J-COLLABO.org to use these works in publications and online distributions necessary for the execution of its activities.

*The shipping and return shipping costs for artworks are the responsibility of the artist.

*In the event that the organizer deems a work to be outside of the exhibition regulations after it has been delivered, or in the event that infringement of a third party's rights (copyright, portrait rights, etc.) or plagiarism or imitation of a work is discovered, the organizer will cancel the entry even after the announcement of the winner.

*We will not accept works that may cause malodors, rotting, damage, animals, plants, or pests, or works that are offensive to the law or public order and morals.

*The entry fee (annual membership fee) will not be refunded after the work has been delivered.

*The organizer will not be responsible for any damage to the work during transportation. If you need insurance, please purchase it on your own.

*The organizer will not compensate for scratches or stains on the temporary frame. The organizer will not compensate for any damage to the work if a temporary frame is used that does not meet the requirements of the exhibition regulations regarding the protection of artwork.

*The organizer will not be responsible for any damage to the work caused by unforeseen circumstances, although the work will be handled with the utmost care during the period between the delivery of the work and its removal. The organizer will compensate only for damage caused by the negligence of the organizer.

*The organizer reserves the right to use the name and work of the winner in publicity and advertising of the exhibition, and in the production and sale of the catalogue, and the exhibitor agrees to this at the time of entry.

*Photography of works by visitors at the exhibition venue is permitted, as is the posting of information about the exhibition on social networking services (but not for commercial purposes).

*Once a work is displayed, it may not be removed until the end of the exhibition (however, the organizer reserves the right to remove the work at its discretion).

*Personal information will be managed by the organizer and will only be used for the purpose of this exhibition and the organization's business.

If an exhibitor interferes with the business of the exhibition or causes trouble, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the next and subsequent exhibitions.

*Exhibitions are subject to change or cancellation due to disasters, outbreaks of infectious diseases, or other circumstances.
