AYATURI Kuroko’s work
In the Edo period(1603-1867), Japan’s cultural heritage began to flourish as Kabuki and Bunraku, Puppet Theater, began to emerge. The Edo Marionette is a type of puppet controlled by a puppeteer using strings. In different forms of theater, the puppeteers, all dressed in black, are also revealed to the audience. The marionettes also have different staging techniques used for the performance based on the type of theater or venue.
